Tehomet’s next-generation modular smart poles are designed to support the evolving needs of smart cities. From connectivity to cameras, EV charging, sensors, and environmental monitoring, each pole can be configured to fulfill the local requirements— both functionally and visually.
The SMART.LITE is built on a scalable three-part system:
Base Section (2 m)
Provide structural support and house power supplies, lighting control (DALI) and Valmont Control Box – central hub for data transmission, Edge computing and power.
Functional Modules (0.5–1.5 m)
Enable smart integrations such as:
- Camera module
- Decorative / Warning light module
- Sensors
- Audio module
- Luminaires and floodlight attachments
Extension Modules (0.5–4.0 m)
Adjust the pole’s total height according to the lighting plan or design brief. These modules can also be customized to create distinctive visual identities.
SMART.LITE poles can be configured from 4 to 12 meters tall, and additional external devices — such as air quality sensors, digital signage, or directional wayfinding — can be seamlessly integrated.
Plug-and-play flexibility
Each module features easy power and data connections, allowing easy upgrades or replacements throughout the pole’s lifecycle. Various connectivity features (LTE, 5G, Wirepas Wifi, Zigbee, BT…) and physical interfaces can be used depending on use case.
Installations can use traditional concrete foundations or flange plates, depending on site conditions.

SMART.CROSSING – enhancing safety for pedestrians
Dedicated application for pedestrian safety in zebra paths.
The Smart.Crossing system uses machine vision of cameras to detect the presence of pedestrians, cyclists, and other city dwellers. This detection capability ensures timely activation of safety measures to prevent and reduce accidents.
Camera Model Agnostic Design
Smart.Crossing is designed to be compatible with various camera models, offering flexibility in implementation and scalability across different systems used in your city.
Pulsating Light Warning Signal
Integrated RGB LEDs in the steel module of the smart pole emit pulsating lighting to visually alert both road users and pedestrians of potential crossing activity. This acts as a clear and immediate warning system.
Adaptive Luminaire Brightness
To enhance visibility, the luminaire brightness automatically increases when a person is detected in the crossing zone. This ensures optimal lighting conditions during critical moments, regardless of ambient light levels.Lighting can be remotely controlled by assigning dimming profiles and on/off schedules.
Audio Alerts
The system provides audible signals to complement the visual warnings, further enhancing awareness for all road users, including those with visual impairments.Audio files can be remotely uploaded through City C- data collection and management platform or stored locally to SD-cards.
