All wood lighting pole models are structurally calculated and the standard models are strength tested by Mikkeli University of the Applied Sciences to ensure conformance with calculation models. Parallel tests have also been conducted at the Valmont North American Structures' test laboratory in Valley, Nebraska.
Tehomet wooded lighting poles are also tested on the company’s own testing equipment to verify the strength characteristics of new models. In these tests, a pole is attached to a base tube on a test bench and a hoist attached to the top of the pole via a load cell. The pole is loaded at intervals in accordance with the EN 40-3-2 standard until breaking point.
